Scout Registration and Dues

Scout Registration

BSA requires that each Cub Scout register annually. Returning Scouts can register at the May Pack meeting. A new registration form is not needed. New Scouts will need to complete a registration form and turn it in at the first Den or Pack meeting they attend.

BSA requires that a Scout be registered and entered into their computer system in order to earn, and track, awards and rank advancement. Scouts who have not completed the registration process will not be able to receive awards or rank advancement.

Pack & Den Dues

Dues are Pack 71’s primary source of funding. Pack membership dues and Den dues are necessary to ensure that there is enough money to cover the expected costs of providing a quality program. Pack dues cover BSA fees, Council program fees, and Pack monthly program costs, patches and advancement awards, belt loops, a pinewood derby car (typically given out at the December Pack meeting), and Pack Pinewood Derby participation awards and trophies. Some special programs and outings may have additional costs.

Total annual membership dues for each Scout in Pack 71 are $150 if you choose to participate in popcorn sales (three 2-hour booth shifts) or $275 if your scout does not participate in the Pack fundraiser.

Paying dues and other fees

Pack dues and other fees (event participation, camping trips, etc.) can be paid at the monthly Pack meeting, or turned in to your Den leader at a regular Den meeting. Payments can be made in cash or by check.  Other payment options are available upon request. Please contact our Pack Treasurer, Jennifer Tinnin, at jennifertinnin@gmail.com with any questions.
